MASTERCARD & CAPITAL ONE: PRICELESS SURPRISES
Unlocking Doors to Adventure
MasterCard and Capital One wanted to boost debit card purchases in the state of Massachusetts. Travel is a huge motivator and common pursuit for people, but there can be lots of barriers: time, money, planning. So we decided to help them with that. Our campaign offered customers the ultimate priceless surprise: a chance to "unlock" global adventures, and their debit cards were the key. We generated awareness by dropping custom larger-than-life doors around Boston—along with opera singers, martial artists, beefeaters, plein air painters, and other trappings representing the four destinations: Hong Kong, London, Paris, and Rome. Every swipe of their card was an entry to win.
After the grand prize winners were selected, we teamed up with Adam Richman (of Man v. Food fame) to help sweeten the surprise.
